I heard rumblings about this last year already so I guess it could be true. Wonder which rich person bought the franchise and impressed the owners, as they are quite fussy with who they partner with.

i dont think krispy kreme is doing entirely that well as a business. after they went public, their shares went sky high because everyone loved their donuts but after that, they had problems sustaining their growth. so they've been trying to expand all over. so i dont think they are that particular anymore on signing up new franchisees

now i'm really curious as to who finally got the franchise! and i concur boo_licious with what you said. was having a conversation with the PR of a restaurant chain last year and he said that they have been dying to bring krispy kreme to KL, but it costs a bomb!

so let's just see if this actually happens this time around.

Krispy Kreme in Malaysia? That will be an eye opener for some JCo Donut Freaks...Seriously dont get why the queue is so long for those donuts..Since the real deal is gonna make an appearance in Malaysia, lets see how long those lines will go..

apparently it's one of my friend's friend that's opening it up. she seems pretty certain that it's going to happen. sooo hopefully it's true :)

i'm going to be cautious with my expectations for krispy kreme. i had high hopes when wendy's came to malaysia, but the food turned out crap and nothing like i remember it tasting abroad.

it's true guys. the donut kings are coming to malaysia. it's gonna be under berjaya if i'm not mistaken. also heard dream donuts are coming... that's owned by 7-11 globally, which is also owned by berjaya locally... sigh... must be something in the name...

I agree with rico - Berjaya has had a few 'successes' in bringing in international franchises, but there have been dissapointments / inconsistencies in the quality and performance of certain franchise chains so far - so i definitely won't be putting my hopes up for a Krispy Kreme success in Malaysia -let alone a lasting success.

krispy kreme will be open up in malaysia soon.. It will be next year in klang valley.. It will be long queue. Longer than j&co donut :)
